The 2024 Conservative Party election manifesto stated:
‘We have delivered on our manifesto pledge to introduce ‘votes for life’ for British citizens living overseas. We will appoint a Minister for British Citizens Overseas to represent them across government.’
Building on the successful Conservatives Abroad 'Votes for Life' campaign giving parliamentary representation to all Britons living overseas, the Conservatives vowed to go one step further and commit to appointing a Minister dedicated to British citizens abroad, tackling the issues that matter to overseas electors, that they raise with their MP's. Whether it's tax, pensions, tuition fees, bank accounts, or visa arrangements, they would have a champion within the government.
Only the Conservatives are thinking about Britons living and working abroad.
