Last night British Conservatives in Paris held their first in person members event in two years with a dinner attended by 24 members, friends and special guests.
The guest speaker, Hervé Rigolot, of the Mouvement conservateur gave an enthusiastic speech on the struggle to create a current of political thought and activism in France worthy of the label ‘Conservative’.
Le Conservatisme is based on a return to traditional values with emphasis on the protection of nature, the economy and employment, family values, immigration, culture and public services.
Jeremy Stubbs, chairman BCiP welcomed everyone and introduced Rafael Pittman, coordinateur Conservatives Abroad (CA ) France who updated attendees with progress on Votes for Life for British citizens living overseas and the Elections Bill 2021-22 that rightly restores the franchise, a Conservative party manifesto pledge. He also invited those present to keep in touch with news and events via the CA website and CA France and BCiP social media. Questions were taken from both speakers at this dinner held in a private dining room in central Paris.
