The British Conservatives in Paris AGM was held in the sumptuous offices of members,Philip and Patricia Hawkes, following a potentially disastrous double booking by the original venue, a Paris restaurant. We would like to thank Patricia and Philip for organising a delicious replacement aperitif and dinner for 25 guests with only three days’ notice!
Christopher Chantrey stood down as Chairman, following 5 years in the post but was elected to the role of President of the Branch. Dominique de Biasi also stood down as Vice-Chairman responsible for organising the social events for the branch but will remain on the committee.
Jeremy Stubbs was elected to the position of Chairman, and Paul Thomson will continue in his role as Vice-Chairman. Rodney Harper will continue in his role as Hon. Treasurer. Robin Baker will continue in his role as Membership Secretary.
The Committee unanimously agreed to transfer funds to Conservatives Abroad from the events that had taken place during the last 12 months, in addition to their membership subscriptions.
Heather Harper, Chairman of Conservatives Abroad accompanied by her husband Brian attended as guests, and during her speech Heather stressed the importance of winning the 2015 election outright and making a major commitment to the Party’s 40:40 campaign.
