Transport minister, Stephen Hammond MP, was guest of honour at Conservatives Abroad, Singapore's recent fund raising dinner.
The minster was in Singapore as part of an Anglo-Irish trade mission which included the Singapore Air Show. He spoke about the important role of minsters as promoters of British business abroad and cited the involvement of British companies in many Singapore infrastructure projects as proof of the benefits of marketing Britain's commercial talents abroad. British companies are currently working on rail, maritime and aviation projects in Singapore.
The event was a great opportunity for Conservatives Abroad members to discuss a wide range of British political issues with the minister.
Money raised at the event will be used to support the Conservative Party's 40/40 marginal seats campaign for the 2015 election.
